Six Inspectors-General of Police have been promoted Additional Directors-General of Police. The government also posted A.K.Viswanathan as Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore.
In the latest round of promotions, the following officers have been posted to new positions: C. Sylendra Babu (present position: IG - North Zone) - ADGP, Coastal Security Group; Karan Singha (IG, Civil Supplies, CID) - ADGP, Armed Police; Prateep V. Philip (IG, Tamil Nadu Police Academy) - ADGP, Crime; R.C. Kudawla, (IG and Member Secretary, TN Uniformed Services Recruitment Board) - ADGP, Welfare; Vijayakumar (IG on deputation with Narcotics Control Bureau, Mumbai) - ADGP without prejudice to his deputation and S. Rajendran (IG, State Traffic Planning Cell) - ADGP, State Traffic Planning Cell. Mr. Viswanathan was till recently Chief Vigilance Officer, Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers (TNPL), replacing T.P. Sundaramoorthy who has been posted as IG, West Zone, Coimbatore.
Sanjay Mathur, DIG, Dindigul, has been promoted IG and posted as Commissioner of Police, Madurai, in the place of P.Kannappan who has been made IG, North Zone.
R. Arumugam, IG, Technical Services and Sunil Kumar, IG, Modernisation, have been transferred and posted as IG, Economic Offences Wing (II) and IG & Member Secretary, TN Uniformed Services Recruitment Board respectively.
