Rows of top-of-the-end cars, scooters and bikes provided a delightful experience for automobile enthusiasts, at the The Hindu Auto Expo, presented by Hero, organised at Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam. The two-day event was inaugurated by Chennai City Commissioner of Police, S. George, who has since been transferred, on Saturday.
Showcased at the expo are cars from India and several other countries, including Japan and Korea. The cars on display are Rolls Royce Ghost, Rolls Royce Phantom, BMW I8, Maserati Quattraporte, Mercedes C-43 AMG and Tata Motors’ Hexa and Tiago.
Two-wheeler giant Hero relaunched three of its scooters — Maestro Edge, Duet and Pleasure and the 125cc bike Glamour — on Saturday. All of them are redesigned to comply with the Bharat Stage IV standards.
Deputy Zonal Head of Hero, B. Swaminathan and Area Manager (TN) of Hero, Lakshmi Sha, said that these expos brought prospective buyers and their dream vehicles under one roof.
With a car to suit every buyer’s needs, the displays range from the world’s cheapest car, to some of the most luxurious four-wheelers that cost upwards of a few crores of rupees.
Presenting the best of their models are brands like Datsun, Skoda, Toyota, Hyundai, BMW, Volkswagen, Renault, Nissan and Ford.
