Swamy demands cancellation of 2G spectrum allocation

Janata Party President Subramanian Swamy on Tuesday demanded that the 2G Spectrum allocation be cancelled and an auction similar to that in 3G be held.

Mr. Swamy also asked the Government to grant him permission to bring charges against Union Telecom Minister A. Raja for alleged corruption in 2G Spectrum allocation, before the Delhi High Court hears his petition on May 18.

He took exception to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi’s remark that Raja was being targeted by “dominant forces” as he is a Dalit.

“When I was pursuing corruption cases against former Karnataka Chief Minister Ramakrishna Hegde and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Ms. Jayalalithaa, Mr. Karunanidhi praised me,” Mr. Swamy said in a statement here.
