A college student is feared drowned while another battling for life in the sea was rescued by fishermen at the Marina on Wednesday.

According to police, Mohammed Bazullah (20), Siddique (20) and Kamal Amed Basha (20) of Vaniyambadi had come here to participate in a sports meet at Vyasarpadi. On Wednesday, the three went to the beach. While Kamal preferred to stay ashore, Bazullah and Siddique went for a swim. A little later, Kamal realised that his friends were missing. He raised an alarm, drawing the attention of local fishermen who went into the sea. They managed to rescue Siddique. Local police were coordinating with the Coast Guard to locate the missing student, the sources added.
