An executive development seminar on ‘Managing organisational change and diversity in the international context' was organised here on Tuesday by the Amrita School of Business and Madras Management Association.

Paul Davis, an international management consultant from Australia, and Ella Roininen, an expert on diversity and cross cultural management from Finland, were the co-facilitators for the seminar. Gurumurthy Kalyanaram, dean of Amrita School of Business moderated the seminar.

Mr. Davis spoke on the challenges faced by organisations as they design and implement changes. He said organisations can overcome employee resistance to change through collaborative workplace processes between employees and managers.

Delivering business results

Ms. Roininen spoke on how to manage a diverse workforce to deliver business results.

She said a potential informal power imbalance can occur between people due to factors such as age, gender, education, wealth and other characteristics.

Managers, decision makers from MNCs and academic leaders were part of the seminar, a press release said.
