Fighting a court battle to stay politically alive, AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa on Friday said overcoming challenges to succeed in life was the way to live.

In her message to party men ahead of party founder M.G. Ramachandran’s 98{+t}{+h}birth anniversary, Ms. Jayalalithaa said, “Life can’t be without challenges and miseries. It is always special to face the challenges with grit and overcome them to emerge successful. The life of MGR teaches us this lesson.”

At a time when organisational elections were on, Ms. Jayalalithaa said it was the duty of the party men to strengthen her hands and keep the party intact as a reflection of love and respect to MGR.

Confining herself to her home here for nearly three months since the Supreme Court granted bail, the AIADMK general secretary exuded confidence in the message that has come ahead of the Srirangam by-election.
