Start-ups get a boost

In a move to encourage more entrepreneurs from India to expand their businesses to the United Kingdom, five winners of a recent competition called the Great Tech Rocketships Initiative will be supported for a year to set up markets in the U.K.

The winners of the competition organised by UK Trade and Investment along with iSpirt and Techhub spent a week in the U.K. They have also been given the chance to set up offices in there and in Boston through Techhub, from where they can work to expand their business.

Bharath Joshi, deputy high commissioner in Chennai, said the startups were identified based on their ideas and the ability to scale up their innovations on a global platform.

The start-ups chosen are: FRILP.com, Agrima Infotech India Pvt. Ltd, Tone Tag,Talview and Congruent Solutions Pvt. Ltd.
