Stalin presents orders of appointment to Scheduled Caste members

Deputy Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Tuesday declared open a building of the Government Servants and Government Undertakings’ Employees Cooperative Credit Society in Triplicane here.

The building was constructed by the Public Works Department at a cost of Rs. 64 lakh. The Society, established in 1912, has been running on profit since inception. Cooperation Minister K.S. Mani was among those present on the occasion.

The Deputy Chief Minister presented orders to 303 persons belonging to Scheduled Castes for the appointment of secondary grade teachers. Forty six of them were Arundathiars. Women accounted for around 50 per cent of the recruits

Mr Stalin also handed over 15 vehicles, procured at a cost of about Rs. 64 lakh, to officials of the Commercial Taxes department.

A. Tamilarasi, Adi-Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Minister, and Vishwanath Shegaonkar, Principal Secretary of the department concerned, were present.
