Former Deputy Chief Minister M.K. Stalin launched the election campaign for the Chennai Mayor and the Corporation Council in Tiruvottiyur on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion he said that the civic works carried out in the last five years by the Chennai Corporation had focused more on better amenities for all weaker sections in the city.
There has been a consistent improvement in public examination results of Chennai Schools in the last five years, he said.
Mr. Stalin pointed to a range of infrastructure development works such as bridges in the city in the last five years and urged residents to vote for M. Subramanian for the welfare measures to continue in the expanded Chennai Corporation also.
