Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam working president M.K. Stalin gave away plastic water pots to 500 families at Ramana Nagar that falls in the Kolathur constituency in Chennai on Monday. Mr. Stalin also inspected the functioning of the water distribution station in the constituency.

Pointing out that the city was reeling under a water crisis, he said about 1,000 plastic water pots were distributed to residents to store drinking water. At present, city residents are being supplied with 550 million litres a day and this may decrease further.

He charged that the Tamil Nadu government had not implemented any action plan to handle water crisis.
