Sri Lankan fishermen rescued

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) rescued a Sri Lankan fishing boat with five crew members from the high seas on Thursday.

According to a release, the Lankan fishing boat had reported engine failure and was drifting in Indian waters since July 25.

The distress message was passed to ICG's Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre, Chennai by the Sri Lankan Deputy High Commissioner in Chennai.
