Special trains for Velankanni, ‘Adi Krithigai' festivals

Southern Railway will run special trains between Chennai Egmore and Nagapattinam for the Velankanni festival.

Chennai Egmore - Nagapattinam special (Train No. 0619) will leave Egmore at 10.45 p.m. on August 28, 30, September 2 and 4 and arrive at Nagapatinam at 6.55 am the next day. Train No. 0620 will leave Nagapattinam at 10.30 pm on August 29, 31, September 3 and 5 and arrive at Chennai Egmore at 7.20 a.m. the next day.

The trains will stop at Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Tiruppadiripuliyur, Chidambaram, Mayiladuthurai, Kumbakonam, Thanjavur and Tiruvarur. Train No.0620 will stop at Mambalam too. Reservation for these trains will commence on July 30.

Southern Railway will also run special trains on the Arakkonam – Tiruttani – Renigunta section from August 3 to 5 for the ‘Adi Krithigai' at Tiruttani. A passenger special will leave Arakkonam at 11.30 a.m. and arrive at Renigunta at 1.20 p.m. In the return direction, it will leave Renigunta at 2 p.m. and arrive at Arakkonam at 4.05 p.m.

The trains will stop at Tiruttani, Ponpadi, Venkatanarasimharajuvaripetta, Nagari, Ekambarakuppam, Vepagunta, Puttur, Taduku & Pudi. Renigunta – Arakkonam specials will stop at Sri Venkata Perumal Rajupuram also.

EMU specials will be operated between Arakkonam and Tiruttani at 10.30 a.m., 1.10 p.m. and 2.45 p.m. In the return direction, they will be run at 11 a.m., 1.35 p.m. and 3.15 p.m.

Owing to line block for engineering work between Tada and Sullurupetta stations on the Chennai Central – Gudur section from 1 a.m. to 6.00 a.m. on August 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 & 11, train number GS-1 leaving Gummidipoondi at 4.40 a.m. and train number SPM - 2 leaving Sullurpetta at 5.40 a.m. will be partially cancelled between Tada and Sullurupetta during the period.
