The Southern Railway has announced additional special trains to clear the extra rush of traffic during the Sabarimala festival season.
The Kochuveli–Chennai Central premium superfast special train (train no. 00652) will leave Kochuveli at 9.30 p.m. on December 4, 7, 11, 14, 18, 21, 23, 25 and 28. It will reach Chennai Central at 11.40 a.m. the following day.
The Chennai Central–Kochuveli premium superfast special train (train no.00651) will leave at 4.30 p.m. on December 8, 15, 22, 24 and 29, and reach Kochuveli at 6.20 a.m. the following day.
Advance reservations for these trains will commence 15 days before the date of service.
The Chennai Central–Kochuveli premium superfast special train (train no. 00653) will leave at 10.30 p.m. on December 5, 12, 19 and 26, and reach Kochuveli at 12.45 p.m. the following day.
Advance reservations for this train will commence 15 days before the date of service.
The Thiruvananthapuram–Chennai Central superfast special train (train no. 06348) will leave at 8.20 p.m. on December 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 (Wednesdays), and reach Chennai Central at 12.35 p.m. the following day.
The Chennai Central–Thiruvananthapuram superfast special train (train no. 06347) will leave Chennai Central at 6.15 p.m. on December 4, 11, 18 and 25 and January 1, 2015 (Thursdays). It will reach Thiruvananthapuram at 11 a.m. the following day.
Advance reservations for the above trains will commence on November 13.

The Chennai Central–Kochuveli superfast special train (train no. 06352) will leave Chennai Central at 6.15 p.m. on December 3, 10, 17 and 31. It will reach Kochuveli at 11 a.m. the following day.
Advance reservations for these will commence on November 13.
