Hundreds of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fans on Thursday boarded the Whistle Podu Express, a special charter train from Chennai to Pune, to watch their team play its fourth match of the season. CSK will take on Rajasthan Royals in Pune on Friday. The fans reached Pune on April 20.

The entire initiative was arranged by the fans and taken forward by the CSK management. “Apart from arranging a special train and complimentary tickets for the journey, CSK management has arranged free accommodation and food for the fans,” an official from CSK said. After watching the match in Pune on Friday, the fans will return to Chennai on Sunday.

Chennai Super Kings returned to the IPL after a two-year hiatus, but it played only one match at its homeground, the MA Chidambaram stadium. Owing to security concerns following protest over the Cauvery issue, the franchise was forced to shift its ‘home’ from Chennai to Pune for the remainder of the season.
