Speakers recall contribution of MCC to higher education

Speakers at a function here on Saturday recalled the contribution made by the Madras Christian College (MCC) to higher education and its emphasis on traditional values.

Addressing the function, organised by the Alumni Association of the MCC, M. Jaichandren, Judge, Madras High Court, said it was one of the best colleges and the State Government had recognised it by conferring the ‘Best Arts and Science College' award.

A brand in itself

The institution was a brand in itself and well known outside the State too, he added.

P.W.C .Davidar, Principal Secretary, IT and Energy, said the institution was known for its ethics and eco– system.

He hoped that the traditional system followed in the institution would be continued.

Character preserved

M.M. Mammen, president of the MCC Alumni Association, said the college preserved its character even today.

R.W. Alexander Jesudasan, Principal of the College said the recognition from the State Government was for the work that the college had put in over a period of time.
