Software professional dies after being hit by call taxi

A young software professional died in a road accident when the motorcycle he was riding back home after work was hit by a speeding call taxi in Taramani on Friday night.

S. Saravana Kumar (26) had just finished his shift at his office on MGR Salai and was returning to his home in Natco Colony, Kottivakkam.

Around 11.15 p.m., the speeding call taxi hit his motorcycle and in the impact, Saravana Kumar was thrown off his motorcycle and he fell on the median.

He was severely injured on his chest and died instantly.

The victim was wearing a helmet, traffic police said.

Police said they had arrested the car driver Shankar (21) of Neelankarai.

He had reportedly lost control of his car, before hitting the victim’s motorcycle.

The victim’s body was handed over to his relatives after a post-mortem on Saturday morning.

The Guindy traffic police are investigating.
