In a gruesome discovery, passers-by on Korukkupet-Ennore High Road spotted seven skulls by the side of the road on Wednesday morning.

According to police, the skulls were spotted near the Vinobha Nagar bus stop. “A few pedestrians found the skulls and called the police. We rushed to the spot and, to prevent any tension in the area, we took the skulls to the police station,” said a police officer.

The police have sent the skulls for testing. “A lot of theories are doing rounds about who left the skulls in the locality. Many locals said they have been lying there since Tuesday afternoon. Even a few autorickshaw drivers have seen them,” said the officer.

The police also found a few pamphlets in the area, and an investigation has been launched into the incident. “Once we know who is responsible for this, further action can be initiated,” said the officer.
