Six more held for student's murder

Neelankarai police arrested six more students in connection with the murder of an engineering student in Palavakkam early on Monday.

According to police sources, the six arrested were Nishanth Chaudhary (19) from Andhra Pradesh, Ranjith Kumar (20) and Prabesh Kumar (20) from Bihar, Vivek Kumar Singh (21), Rohan Sinha (21) and Samrat (21), all from Jharkhand. They are engineering students of Sathyabama University in Semmancheri.

Police said the six, along with Saurav Singh (20) and Sanjay Kumar Singh (21), who were arrested on Monday, and 12 others had attacked Nirbhay, a student of Dr. MGR University, Maduravoyal, around 1 a.m. at Palavakkam on Monday.
