Six injured as buses collide

Traffic was disrupted on Santhome High Road for a few hours on Thursday night after two MTC buses collided around 10.15 p.m.

Six passengers sustained injuries when 27L, heading from Anna Square towards Mandeveli depot, entered the wrong lane and collided with 21D (Thiruvanmiyur to Broadway) near Foreshore Estate.

“The bus driver was perhaps in a hurry to reach the depot He was over-speeding and entered the wrong lane,” said A. Elangovan, conductor of 21 D.

The injured passengers were taken to the Government Royapettah Hospital.
