The second edition of The Hindu Shutterbug Contest is to start July 7. The topic this time is 'traditional Chennai', and the best photograph will win a Landmark voucher worth Rs. 1,000.
The Hindu invites readers to get clicking once again, for the Shutterbug Contest. The best photograph adjudged by Photo Editor D. Krishnan, will win a Landmark voucher for Rs. 1,000.
Top entries will be displayed in the City pages and online, at www.thehindu.com/chennai. Submitted images will be sent to The Hindu archives for future use, with due credit.
- The theme is Traditional Chennai
- Entries will be accepted only from July 7 to July 15.
- Each contestant is allowed one entry. Send it in only to cc.thehindu@gmail.com, with your name, phone number and Facebook tag
- The acceptable image size is 650 KB to 1.5 MB
- Please ensure you have a high-resolution version (about 6MB) of the image, for use, in case your entry is shortlisted
- Like the Facebook page, Chennai Central, so you can tag your picture when it is uploaded
The diversity of Chennai was best captured by its people as was evident from the remarkable images that poured in during the last contest. There's still so much more to see, to explore. Happy clicking!

A heart wrenching photograph. Corruption wreaking in millions on the one hand and absolute poverty threatening to erase childhood and innocence on the other.
Who is this child? Can't something be done for him?
seriously ? You mean people are making money clicking the lives of these poor people ? One only hopes at least the money thus earned is spent on these poor people.
if there is a project in which the photo is a part one can understand - but if capturing the photo is an end in itself, it is disappointing.
