Shooting competition for police personnel inaugurated

The national-level shooting competition for police personnel was inaugurated by the Director General of Police, K. Ramanujam at the Tamil Nadu Police Training Academy, Unamanchery, near Tambaram on September 3.

Speaking on the occasion, the DGP said that around 800 police personnel from 27 States and from Central Reserve Police Force would be taking part in the competition to be held at Tamil Nadu Commando Force firing range located at Othivakkam near Guduvancheri from September 4. Prizes would be distributed to the winners on September 8, he added.

Meanwhile, the police had urged the people living in and around Othivakkam to stay away and avoid goading cattle for grazing near firing range in view of the competitions.
