As The Hindu enters its 136 year, it launched an exclusive real-estate portal, www.roofandfloor.com, on Friday.
The website, which was launched at an event, provides an updated list of real-estate projects in the city. A publication on real estate, Changing City Landscapes , was also launched by Ajit Chordia, president of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI).
Mr. Chordia said the e-commerce age was here to stay. “It is good that The Hindu has come up with a portal. It is a long-felt need and will help developers use a cost-effective medium to reach the audience,” he said.
N. Ram, chairman of Kasturi and Sons Limited, said The Hindu has been in print for a pretty long time. “This is an unchartered journey for us. But we are very confident about doing well in this particular platform. This is a digital age,” he said. Rajeev Lochan, CEO of Kasturi and Sons Limited, said the company had a rich tradition of adapting to technology and was a pioneer in technology evolution in the printing and publishing world. “This is a significant milestone in our journey in evolving digitally,” he said.
