It’s an opportunity for diehard fans of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to hit the streets and show that they are standing with their team in solidarity.
A group of CSK enthusiasts, led by H. Saravanan, a prominent fan, who has often been seen sporting yellow paint during the team’s IPL matches, are organising a Save CSK campaign, near the Pattabhiram gate of M.A. Chidambaram stadium on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The objective is to have the suspension of the team revoked.
Mr. Saravanan said a signature campaign would be launched on the occasion. The signatures collected from fans would be sent as a petition to the BCCI and the Supreme Court of India.
CSK fans are also taking the campaign to the social media with the official Facebook page of the two-time IPL champions promoting the event with the ‘savecsk’ hashtag.
CSK has more than 1.10 crore likes on its Facebook page and 18 lakh followers on Twitter.
