Immediately after the AIADMK government led by Edappadi K. Palaniswami won the vote of confidence in the House, party workers owing allegiance to the Sasikala faction broke into celebrations by bursting crackers, distributing sweets and playing traditional music.

Cadre who turned up in large numbers at the party head quarters in Royapettah performed a milk abishekam to the statue of the party founder M.G. Ramachandran (MGR) at the party office. Jubilant supporters also garlanded the statue of MGR and the portrait of late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa. Former Minister Gokula Indira said, “Mr. Palaniswami’s victory is a big boost to all those loyals who stood by the party. In this hour, we miss the general secretary of the party.”
