Pipeline leak at Ganesapuram subway causes traffic pileup

January 31, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 08:14 am IST - CHENNAI:

Traffic on Ambedkar College Road in Vyasarpadi was affected on Friday evening after sewage leaked from a damaged pipeline and flooded the Ganesapuram subway.

Motorists using the busy but narrow subway had to motor through or take a detour via Perambur High Road and Perambur flyover.

S. Shanmugam, a resident of Ganesapuram, complained of traffic pileups on both sides of the road. A worker said the problem was being attended to, with the sewage water being pumped out to the nearby channel, and added the leak would be fixed by Friday night.
