Rs.2 crore for drinking water problem

The government has allotted Rs.2 crore to Tiruvannamalai district to alleviate drinking water scarcity, State Food Minister E.V.Velu said.

He said this after distributing free colour TV sets to Anthanur and Arasanganni and inaugurating a part-time ration shop at Ariyakkunjur on Sunday. Mr.Velu said that free colour TV distribution was over in 807 panchayats out of total 860 village panchayats in Tiruvannamalai district. “As many as 4,13,930 families in the district received free colour TVs. People in municipal and town panchayat areas in the district will get TVs in two months,” he added.
