The Royapettah police registered a case against a man who attacked his neighbour’s pet dog for barking at him. The accused, Arumugam attacked the dog with a cricket bat. Arumugam was angry at the dog for barking at him and his son, while they fought with its owner Manikandan. The dog, a dachshund was attempting to push aside the two men who were abusing Manikandan and was clubbed to death. Shocked over the brutal act, Manikandan filed a police complaint against with the Royapettah police.
