Robbery of teacher: suspect held

More than a month after the robbery of a woman in Thoraipakkam, the prime suspect has reportedly been arrested and is being brought back to Chennai. The teacher had been threatened at knife-point and robbed of her gold jewellery.

The incident, the mobile phone video of which went viral, was followed by a massive manhunt by the police.

Two suspects have already been arrested, city police said, adding the prime suspect in the case ‘Neeravi’ Murugan was arrested in Tuticorin district and is being brought to Chennai.
