Revoke appointment of CVC: Vaiko

Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam general secretary Vaiko on Friday demanded that the Centre revoke the appointment of P.J. Thomas as Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC).

Spectrum allocation

In a statement, he said that when the controversy arose, Mr. Thomas was Telecommunications Secretary and had sought to keep the CVC and Comptroller and Auditor-General (CAG) out of the probe into alleged irregularities in the allocation of spectrum.

Strong criticism

His appointment as CVC, even in the wake of strong criticism, had caused concern among many persons, the MDMK leader added.
