First find your zone

Tiruvottiyur zone 1

Manali - zone 2

The Five-fold path

1. If your neighborhood is in any of the 200 wards in the given zones, trace the ward number of road where the damaged/encroached footpath is located.

2. Note down the contact number of the councillor concerned from the Chennai Corporation website >http://www.chennaicorporation.gov.in/ or seek assistance from Chennai Corporation helpline 1913 to trace the Junior Engineer's contact number in the respective ward.

3. Seek data on the actual dimensions of the footpath from the road register through your councillor or through RTI plea. Your councillor is empowered to seek information pertaining to the road registers from the Junior Engineer/Assistant Engineer of the ward. Assess the extend of encroachment or damage to the footpath and request the Junior Engineer/Assistant Engineer to take action.

4. If the junior engineer/assistant engineer is unable to give a solution to your problem, convey the grievance to the zonal officers or joint commissioners concerned. Numbers of 15 zonal officers. (From 9445190001 (zone 1) to 9445190015 (zone 15))
