Rescue work at disaster site over

The State government officially declared on Friday evening that the rescue operation at the building collapse site at Moulivakkam here was completed. Two teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), however, will remain at the site for a couple of days to assist in the mop-up operations.

Sixty-one bodies have been recovered from the site and 27 survivors rescued from the debris. The survivors are being treated at Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre, Porur.
