MDMK general secretary Vaiko on Thursday urged Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit to rescind the appointment of Tamma Suryanarayana Sastry as the Vice-Chancellor of the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University.

“In the appointment of Mr. Sastry, the Governor has accepted the recommendation of the BJP government at the Centre. The AIADMK government has caused grave injustice to the people of Tamil Nadu by allowing it to happen,” Mr. Vaiko charged in a statement.

He said that when Mr. Sastry was working in the university, he faced many allegations and came under attack from the DMK government for describing Tamil as a bad language.

“He was expelled from the university in 2009 and he is an ideologue of the RSS. His appointment is more proof that the BJP government is appointing its supporters in various academic positions,” he alleged, and accused the Governor of openly identifying himself as a representative of the Sangh Parivar.
