Thakkar Bapa Vidyalaya Samithi observed 58th Memorial Day of Vaidyanatha Iyer who fought for the welfare of dalits and for the first time led a group of dalits into Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple, on the call of Mahatma Gandhi.

E. Mariappan, Director, (News), Doordarshan Kendra, was the chief guest on the occasion. V.K. Sthanunathan spoke about Vaidyanatha Iyer and advised the students to follow his path of truth, honesty, sincerity and hard work.

On the occasion, financial assistance was extended by V.K. Sthanunathan, secretary, in memory of his father T.S. Subramaniya Iyer. Also, Vinod Thakkar, philanthropist, provided financial assistance to girl students. Event in Pictures:
