Police seized nearly five tonnes of red sanders logs in two incidents in Arakkonam. Personnel attached to the Sholinghur station were conducting a vehicle check on the Sholinghur-Walajapet Road during the early hours of Friday. They intercepted a container lorry and found nearly four tonnes of red sander logs. The logs were being smuggled from Andhra Pradesh. They nabbed Nagaraj (43), the owner and driver.
Police personnel attached to the Arakkonam station seized one tonne of logs being transported in a truck on Thursday night.
