So, your kolu dolls, collected over the years, are ready for display? Besides the known circle of friends and relatives, you can get them ready for a larger display, one meant for the readers of The Hindu.

Participation is open to residents across the city. Online registration for the event starts on September 22. Participants have to send in two pictures of their kolu and the size of each photo should not exceed 3MB.

A winner and two runners-up will be selected from each of the six zones of Downtown — Anna Nagar, T.Nagar, IT Corridor, Tambaram, Mylapore and Velachery.

Consolation prizes will be given to 10 participants in each zone.

The kolus will be judged on the basis of theme, description of the kolu which should dwell on the arrangement and creativity. The decision of the jury is final.

Supporting partners for the event include Cooptex, Prashanthi Sarees, Kanchi Weavers, Gramiyaa and Foot Haven
