Communist Party of India (Marxist) State secretary G. Ramakrishnan on Monday appeared before Principal Sessions Judge here, P. Devadoss, in connection with a case filed by the State government for his alleged remarks against Labour Minister T.M. Anbarasan.
The case pertains to an interview given by him to a Tamil bi-weekly, accusing Tirupur MLA C. Govindasamy of functioning as a conduit between the Minister and owners of knitwear units in Tirupur to get permission for allowing 10 hours of work. Following this a complaint was filed in the court, in which it was alleged that the Communist leader had intentionally and maliciously tarnished the Minister's image. Taking the complaint on file, the PSJ ordered issue of summons to Mr. Ramakrishnan for his appearance.
Accordingly, he appeared before the Judge. The case was adjourned to December 21.
