PMK leader S. Ramadoss on Friday urged the State government to operate all the 250 buses acquired for the eight divisions of the state transport corporations.
In a statement here, he said though body-building was done for these buses between July and September last year, they were remaining idle as former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa was convicted in the disproportionate case. “Each bus cost Rs 16 lakh and the money was borrowed from the Tamil Nadu Transport Development Finance Corporation. The government has paid Rs 2.10 crore as interest as the buses are not operated. Public money cannot be wasted for the sake of an individual convicted in a case,” he said.
