The Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) and its ally DMK have made elaborate arrangements for the visit of the UPA’s Presidential candidate, Pranab Mukherjee, who will launch his campaign here on Saturday.

A release from TNCC president B.S. Gnanadesikan stated that Mr. Mukherjee would first call on DMK president M. Karunanidhi at his residence.

Subsequently, he would meet MPs and MLAs of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) in Tamil Nadu.

This would be followed by a visit to Sathyamurthy Bhavan, the TNCC headquarters.

Since the CPI (M) had also announced its support to Mr. Mukherjee, a CPI (M) delegation, led by party MP T.K. Rangarajan, would meet him at the hotel.
