The Department of Posts has come forward to provide space at post offices and mail vans to display awareness messages urging voters to exercise their franchise. The space will be offered at a concessional rate.

At present, display boards inside and outside post offices and mail vans of the department are used by government bodies and the private sector to display advertisements at a nominal rate.

With the elections around the corner, India Post plans to display messages at up to 50 per cent of the existing rates.

This facility will be offered till the day of election (May 16). Interested persons may contact the Office of the Postmaster General, Chennai City Region, at 044-28594761 or send an email topmgccrbd@gmail.com.
