Portal to make business easy for traders

Traders and entrepreneurs in the city will soon be able to pay property tax, profession tax, or obtain a trade licence from the Chennai Corporation and even pay tax to the Commercial Tax Department through the Central government’s G2B portal, eBiz.

The Corporation has started work on integrating services for traders and entrepreneurs, and will be able to regulate and help traders in the city covered under 575 categories.

Traders starting a new business or establishing a new industrial unit in Chennai will soon be able to use the portal ( >www.ebiz.gov.in ) for online access to core services needed to obtain necessary clearances, licences and tax registrations.

Services available on eBiz are categorised based on the region and departments for quick and easy access

The Corporation will also use the portal to issue licences for newly added trades. The portal will help the civic body tackle challenges in trade licensing and regulate trades that cause health hazards.
