Policemen transferred

Police personnel who were allegedly responsible for the custodial death of a 28-year-old detenu in Neelankarai police station last week have been transferred.

Last week, V.Anthony, 28, a resident of Tsunami Quarters, Kannagi Nagar, died in the custody of police personnel in the Neelankarai police station while they were interrogating him on suspicion of his involvement in thefts and robberies.

On Monday, the city police administration transferred Inspector of Neelankarai station Ranjith to the police control room and four other police personnel to the Armed Reserve unit.
