Police raid home, seize pirated CDs of new films

A police raid at a house in Perungalathur led to the arrest of a youth involved in the making and sale of pirated discs of new Tamil films.

The Video Piracy Cell, CB-CID, raided several places in the city and seized 15,000 pirated compact and digital video discs of films in different languages, including 100 pornographic films. Based on a tip-off, the team raided a house in Bharathi Nagar, New Perungalathur. on Tuesday night and picked up 29-year-old R. Ganesh.

 The police recovered more than 4,000 pirated DVDs of latest movies, including Uttama Villain , Kanchana-2 and OK Kanmani in addition to wrappers, blank discs, DVD writers and a computer.

Special teams would continue their raids, a police officer said.
