The Crime Branch Central Investigation Department (CB-CID) on Saturday announced ₹2 lakh cash reward to anyone providing information on cases relating to the heist of ₹5.78 crore worth soiled currencies from the Salem-Chennai Express on August 8 last year and the murder of K. N. Ramajeyam, younger brother of K.N. Nehru, senior functionary of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.

The currencies were stolen from the parcel van of the train by breaking the roof of the train. No breakthrough has been achieved in the case.

On March 29, 2012, Ramajeyam was allegedly murdered after he was abducted by unidentified assailants from Thillai Nagar in Tiruchi. His body was found in a bush on the banks of the Cauvery near Thiruvalarsolai.
