Police custody of suspects sought

The Crime Branch CID police have filed a petition seeking custody of some suspects involved in the expired drugs case.

According to a press release issued by the agency on Monday, an affidavit was filed in a city court seeking the custody of S. Srinivasan, P. Kannan, Hemanth Kumar Jain, V. Meenakshi Sundaram, V. Manickam and Pradeep Chordia in order to interrogate them to unearth their links, sources and also to know the details of manufacturers of spurious drugs at Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Bangalore, Kumbakonam, Vellore and Chennai.

Meenakshi Sundaram was already taken into custody by the Chennai Police for interrogation, the press release added.
