Police on Sunday arrested three persons in connection with an assault on a 23-year-old man in Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar on Friday night.
According to police, Ram Ganesh, a resident of Vetri Nagar in Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar, was passing through K.C. Garden on Friday night, when he was assaulted by three men with sharp weapons. Ganesh sustained injuries to the head and was admitted to a hospital.
A case was registered at the Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar police station. The police questioned Ganesh, who said that Sundar (32), an autorickshaw driver could have been involved in the assault.
When the police located Sundar and interrogated him, he said that when he was residing in Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar, Ganesh and his friend Manikandan allegedly had an affair with his wife, who was a nurse.
When Sundar found out, he moved to Kolathur. “But Ganesh and Manikandan kept troubling Sundar’s wife. She complained to Sundar, and he and two of his friends Prakash (20) and Velu alias Velayudham (20) attacked Ganesh.
Based information given by Sundar, the police arrested Prakash and Velu too. All three have been remanded to custody.
