: The Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) and the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) on Monday said that the State government should take steps to correct the inequalities built into the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).

In separate statements, the PMK and the Congress said that NEET candidates who had followed State Board syllabus were at a disadvantage because the exam was being conducted according to the CBSE syllabus.

While TNCC president Su. Thirnunavukkarasar called for an all-party meeting on NEET, PMK founder S. Ramadoss called for an exemption from appearing in NEET for candidates joining government medical colleges.
