Around 200 persons under the leadership of former union minister A.K. Murthy staged a protest outside the Chennai police commissioner's office demanding action against a group of persons, who uprooted Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) party flags in Puzhal on January 31.

Mr. Murthy alleged that not only were flags uprooted but his party supporters were also threatened.
