The Principal Sessions Judge (PSJ), P.Devadoss, on Wednesday allowed petitions seeking withdrawal of a complaint against two Tamil Nadu Ministers and two others for allegedly defaming former Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi.

The complaint was filed by the City Public Prosecutor (CPP) during the DMK rule.

It sought punishment for O.Panneerselvam and K.A.Sengottaiyan, Ministers, D.Jayakumar, Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker and P.H.Manoj Pandian, AIADMK advocates' wing secretary, for an item published in newspapers that the AIADMK had written to the Election Commission alleging that the DMK government had ordered shifting of government departments to the new Secretariat complex (at the Government Estate) to destroy important documents and files.

The present CPP filed petitions seeking to withdraw the complaint.

The Judge ordered that he was permitting the withdrawal of the complaint.
