With additions at the Guindy National Park, this is a good time to make a visit to the green space.
Two just-borns — peachick and an infant-Rhesus monkey — are enthralling visitors. Besides that, a white cobra has been introduced at the park.According to a Forest range officer, the reptile was caught at Thiruvallur district by the snake catchers of Irula community and brought to the national park.
“The cobra is a five-foot-long albino and it is the first of its kind at the national park. The snake is drawing a lot of attention from visitors," he adds. According to a senior official, despite Tuesday being a weekly off day, both the Guindy National Park and ArignarAnna Zoological Park in Vandalur will remain open on account of Independence Day, as many visitors are expected.
