The passenger, who lit up soon after he boarded, was asked to get off the aircraft and give an apology letter

July 02, 2013 10:12 am | Updated 10:12 am IST - CHENNAI:

IndiGo airlines staff members were taken aback when they found a passenger smoking inside the aircraft.

The IndiGo flight from Delhi to Coimbatore via Chennai was about to depart Chennai airport on Monday morning when the airlines staff found the passenger smoking, airport sources said.

According to the sources, Krishnakumar Jain (54), who is from Delhi, started smoking soon after he boarded the aircraft.

When the staff spotted this, they immediately asked him to get off the aircraft. He was also asked to give an apology letter.

“We don’t know how this person managed to cross the security area and smoke inside the flight. So far, no such incidents have taken place in Chennai inside our flights,” said an IndiGo staff.
